The Hyundai Alcazar takes direct competition from cars like the Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus. Hyundai Alcazar, although being based on the Creta gets its own unique charm. The car has been given a modern look. It gets full LED headlamps, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, a dark chrome front grille, side footstep, a twin-tip exhaust, a rear skid plate and puddle lamps as some of the prominent exterior features.
MG had updated the MG Hector a while ago, which lead to the lunching of MG Hector Plus as well. Hector Plus gets exterior elements like front & rear skid plates, front & rear LED fog lamps, full LED headlamps, floating turn indicators, LED tail lamps, side body cladding finish and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are some of the key ones.
Interior Features
The interior on the Hyundai Alcazar has been finished in dual-tone Cognac Brown with cabin inserts finished in piano black. An 8-way adjustable power driver seat and a 10.25-inch multi-display digital instrument cluster is made available in the cabin. The instrument cluster comes with 4 themes viz. CUBE | COMFORT | ECO | SPORT. The car gets a 64-colour ambient lighting setup, air purifier, electric parking brake with Auto Hold and a panoramic sunroof (voice-enabled inside the cabin. Hyundai has even added a ‘Welcome Greeting’ message inside the cabin.
MG Hector Plus on the other hand gets features like Smoked Sepia Brown leather seats, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, front & rear LED reading lamps, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, electric parking brake and 8-coloured ambient lighting system as some prominent ones. Hector Plus also gets a 6-way power driver seat and a 4-way power co-driver seat. MG Hector gets a customizable ‘Welcome Greeting’ message as well.
Entertainment Features
A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports OTA updates is available with the Alcazar. The system comes with built-in navigation and supports air purifier controls & voice command support for system controls. An 8-speaker premium sound system from BOSE has been made available in the higher variants of the Alcazar.
MG Hector Plus comes with a 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and OTA updates. An 8-speaker premium sound system from Infinity takes care of the audio.
Comfort & Convenience Features
Hyundai has offered features like 2nd-row one-touch tip and tumble seats, premium 2nd-row console armrest, 2nd-row headrest cushion, smartphone wireless charger in 1st & 2nd-row (integrated with console armrest), 3rd-row amenities like AC vents & USB chargers, remote engine start via Smart Key, paddle shifters, front-row ventilated seats, rear window sunshade and automatic headlamps (standard) as some of the comfort and convenience features. Hyundai has also made drive modes (ECO, COMFORT, SPORT) and traction modes (SNOW, SAND, MUD) available for the driver to select according to the situation and road conditions.
MG Hector Plus gets front-row ventilated seats, wireless charger, powered smart-swipe auto tailgate, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, 2nd & 3rd-row AC vents & charging ports, cooled glove box and sunroof open & windows down by remote key as some of the convenience and comfort features.
Hyundai Alcazar vs MG Hector Plus Safety Features
Some features like ESC, hill start assist control, rear disc brakes, ABS with EBD, dual airbags, ISOFIX, rear defogger, rear parking sensors & camera and TPMS have been made standard on the Alcazar. The higher variants will get enhanced safety features like a Surround View Monitor with a 360-degree camera, Blind View Monitor, Birds Eye view for convenient parking, front & rear parking sensors and 6 airbags.

Hyundai Alcazar comes with an introductory price starting from Rs 16.30 (ex-showroom) Lakh which goes all the way up to Rs 20 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-of-the-line variant. This price is for a limited period and is bound to increase after a while. The MG Hector Plus, on the other hand, starts at Rs 13.63 Lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 19.81 Lakh (ex-showroom).
