With the launch of Hyundai Alcazar is a lot of buyers for the Creta would now be confused whether they should buy a 5- seater or go for a 7- seater SUV. Engines

The most basic thing about any car is the engine and both these SUVs get different engines. Both these SUVs get a 1.5-litre diesel engine. You get manual as well as automatic gearbox options on this engine. The variant lineup is slightly different on both these vehicles and we will explain that further ahead. On the Hyundai Creta, you get a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 115 bhp of power. There is also a turbo petrol, 1.4-litre engine making 140 bhp of power. . The Alcazar gets a single 2.0-litre petrol engine that makes 190 Nm of torque and 159 bhp of power.

The Hyundai Alcazar gets a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. It gets a sound system of Bose on the higher variants and lower variants get a  Arkamys system. Being a second row focused car, the Hyundai Alcazar gets to sit back table with a retractable cupholder also there is a sidestep for easy entry and exit. There is more storage with the 6 seater version with wireless charging, bigger arm-rests and cup holders. The captain seats will also give you more space with an added advantage of adjustability.

Now if we take a look at the Hyundai Creta you get most of these features on it too. Of course, the attention to the second row is not as focused as the Hyundai Alcazar but the Hyundai Creta has enough space in the second room for comfortable seating for three.

The Hyundai Creta is 200 mm shorter than the Hyundai Alcazar in length. Both the cars are equally wide. The wheelbase of the Hyundai Alcazar is slightly longer by 150 mm at 2760 mm. This increase in the wheelbase makes the Hyundai Alcazar slightly more spacious than the Hyundai Creta. The Hyundai Alcazar also offers slightly more headroom as it has 40 mm more height than the Hyundai Creta.

Both the vehicles have 50 litres of a fuel tank. The Hyundai Alcazar has less boot space if you keep the third row seats up of whereas the Hyundai Creta has 433-litres of boot space as there is no third row of seats. The Alcazar with the last row seats folded will be more spacious.

The Hyundai Creta gets drum brakes at the rear and steel wheels on the base variant. With the Hyundai Alcazar, you get alloy wheels across all variants and the rear disc brake is on offer on all variants. The lower variants get 17-inch wheels on the Alcazar. On the Hyundai, you get 16-inch steel wheels.

If you consider the top variants you get alloy wheels on both the SUVs but the Hyundai Alcazar gets 18-inch wheels whereas the Hyundai Creta gets 17-inch wheels. The spare wheel on both these cards is a steel wheel.

Safety

Both the Hyundai Alcazar and Hyundai Creta are equally good when it comes to safety. On the base variant, the Hyundai Alcazar gets ISOFIX child-seat anchors points which the Hyundai Creta misses out on. Alcazar also gets ESP and hill-hold from the base variant Which the Hyundai Creta misses.

For the base variant of both these cars, the Hyundai Alcazar gets keyless entry whereas the Creta does not. The Hyundai Alcazar gets automatic climate control from the base variant there is also a blower for the second and third row of seats. The Creta gets manual climate control but there are second row AC vents on the pillars. Over the Hyundai Creta, the Hyundai Alcazar gets a 360° camera it also gets front parking sensors. Alcazar gets a completely digital instrument Cluster that is customizable. It also gets a blind space monitor too, making it easier to drive.

Now the closest comparison between the variants happens when you take the prestige seven-seater 1.5-litre diesel manual variant of the Hyundai Alcazar and the SX 1.5-litre diesel automatic variant of the Hyundai Creta. Both these variants cost approximately Rs 20 lakh on-road. We feel that Hyundai Alcazar offers quite more at the same price. Even the base variant is quite feature-packed and that makes the choice easy.
