Recently in Russia, the second-gen Hyundai Creta has been updated with some changes to the design. No this is not the Hyundai Creta facelift but we think that it might take some inspiration from this update. There is quite a bit of time till we see the Hyundai Creta facelift in India. Recently the company has launched the Hyundai Alcazar which is a seven-seater based on the Hyundai Creta.

Russian update

The Russian update for the Hyundai Creta mostly includes a lot of design changes. There is a different grille, a new bumper at both ends and some changes to the interiors. The Hyundai Creta in Russia now gets the same cabin with brown and black interiors which has been being offered in India for quite a while. The front grill of the Russian Creta now has a studded grille instead of the horizontal chrome stripes. The tailgate is missing the connection between two taillights and the lamp extends into the tailgate. This makes the rear look a bit bulkier and it gives the vehicle a feeling of being big from the rear.

Should Tata Harrier buyers wait for Mahindra XUV700?

The Hyundai Creta in Russia gets a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine with both manuals as well as automatic transmission. It is also available with AWD variants.

Indian Hyundai Creta

In India, the Hyundai Creta is currently offered with three engine options. The newly launched Hyundai Alcazar comes with a new petrol engine. If at all a AWD system is to be introduced on the Hyundai Creta then this new 2.0-litre engine will be needed. As of now the 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine are the two available petrol options. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is shared with the Hyundai Alcazar. The Hyundai Creta rivals the Kia Seltos, Nissan kicks and will also lock horns with the upcoming Skoda Kushaq. It also attracts customers from bigger SUVs like Tata Harrier and MG Hector.

Our Expectations from Hyundai Creta Facelift

We expect that the new Hyundai Creta will have the same sensuous sportiness design. It might feature the grille that is seen on the Hyundai Tucson next-gen. it will have the vertical plant headlights, leaner daytime running lights and a slightly changed bumper. If Hyundai wants to take it a notch further it might also give this SUV the new engine that is offered on the Hyundai Alcazar and also provide AWD. If you think that this might be overkill we could at least see a hybrid engine is offered on the petrol variants of the Hyundai Creta.
