Hyundai has given a lot of attention to the exterior styling of the Alcazar to give it a unique identity amongst its competition cars. The car has been given a bold look. It gets full LED headlamps, a dark chrome grille, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, a side footstep, sporty twin-tip exhaust, a rear skid plate, puddle lamps, rear spoiler and a shark fin antenna.

Tata has designed the new car taking cues from the previous-gen Safaris. The car gets a stepped roof, tri-arrow front grille, iconic roof rails with Safari branding, Xenon HID projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, 18-inch machined alloys, rear spoiler and a shark fin antenna. The Hyundai does take a lead here with features like side footstep, twin tip exhausts and a rear skid plate. But when it comes to overall road presence, we think the Safari does stand out.

The interior on the Hyundai Alcazar has been given a premium touch and a cockpit-inspired design to make the cabin more engaging. The interior has been finished in dual-tone Cognac Brown with piano black accents to compliment the dual-tone theme. The cabin gets an 8-way adjustable power driver seat. A 10.25-inch multi-display digital instrument cluster is made available in the cabin. The instrument cluster comes with 4 themes viz. CUBE, COMFORT, ECO & SPORT. The car gets a premium 64-colour ambient lighting setup and a voice-enabled panoramic sunroof. Auto Healthy air purifier and electric parking brake with Auto Hold are also available inside the cabin. Hyundai has even added a ‘Welcome Greeting’ message inside the cabin.

Tata Safari on the other hand gets features like an Ashwood dashboard with Nappa grain top layer and Oyster White interior theme & perforated leather upholstery. The cabin gets a 6-way powered driver seat. The cabin also gets ambient mood lighting, electric parking brake with Auto Hold and a panoramic sunroof.

Entertainment Features

In-cabin entertainment will be taken care of by a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports OTA updates. The system supports a split-screen layout and comes with built-in navigation. That is not all; the system even offers air purifier controls and voice command support for system controls. The sound experience will be taken care of by an 8-speaker premium sound system from BOSE in the higher variants.

Tata Safari comes with an 8.8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. The cabin gets a 9-speaker premium sound system from JBL. Overall, the Alcazar does have a bit more features than the Safari.

Comfort & Convenience Features

Hyundai has offered features like 2nd-row sliding and reclining seats, 2nd-row one touch tip and tumble seats, premium 2nd-row console armrest, 2nd-row headrest cushion, smartphone wireless charger in 1st & 2nd-row, 3rd-row AC vents & USB chargers, remote engine start via Smart Key, paddle shifters, front-row ventilated seats, rear window sunshade and automatic headlamps (standard) as some of the comfort and convenience features. Hyundai has also made drive modes (ECO | COMFORT| SPORT) and traction modes (SNOW | SAND | MUD) available for a convenient driving experience.

Tata Safari gets reclining 2nd-row seats, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps. The Safari also comes with Boss Mode that allows 2nd-row passengers to control distance of the 1st-row co-driver seat. 3rd-row amenities like AC vents and charging ports are also made available in the cabin. For the driving convenience, drive modes (ECO | CITY| SPORT) and terrain response modes (NORMAL | ROUGH | WET) are made available.

Tata Safari on the other hand gets 27 connected car tech features with some of them being remote lock/unlock, driving analytics, geo-fencing, powertrain status, remote immobilization and vehicle tracking.

Hyundai Alcazar has been launched with an introductory price starting from Rs 16.30 lakh (ex-showroom) which goes all the way up to Rs 20 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-of-the-line variant. The Tata Safari, on the other hand starts at Rs 14.99 Lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 21.81 Lakh (ex-showroom).
