Hyundai has finally launched the Alcazar today. This 7 seater SUV has been a much awaited launch for quite a while and now when the prices are finally out. The Hyundai Alcazar has been offered at a starting introductory price of Rs 16.30 lakhs (ex-showroom) for its starting petrol range and its top diesel variant goes up to Rs 20 lakhs (ex-showroom). At this price, the car competes with the Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. We are expecting that the launch of Hyundai Alcazar would boost the sales of the Hyundai Creta too. This seven-seater Hyundai Alcazar is offered in six variants with two engine options and there are eight colors to choose from. The bookings of Hyundai Alcazar are open at Rs.25,000.

Hyundai Alcazar offers best in class wheelbase and turning Radius. Thereby making it highly maneuverable in the city and on highways, while short overhangs complement its overall SUV stance. Hyundai also provides a stepped roof to enhance 3rd row headroom for passengers. Exact dimensions are as follows – length – 4500mm, width – 1790, height – 1675 mm and wheelbase – 2760mm.

Engine

The Alcazar comes with 2.0–litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine makes a power of 157 bhp and a torque of 191 Nm. The diesel engine on the other hand makes slightly less power of 113 bhp but has 250 Nm of torque. The car gets a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission.

To enhance the driving experience, Hyundai Alcazar will offer customers a choice of Drive Mode Select (COMFORT | ECO | SPORT) and Traction Control Modes (SNOW | SAND | MUD) thereby optimizing driving comfort across different terrains. Hyundai Alcazar will offer paddle shifters.

Features

The Hyundai Alcazar is quite loaded when it comes to features. It gets a voice-enabled panoramic sunroof (standard on all variants), an air purifier, 64 colour ambient lighting, 10.25 – inch digital drivers display and The sound system Arkamys as standard but the higher variants get Bose speaker system. The driver seat is electrically adjustable in eight ways and the touchscreen infotainment system has an android auto and Apple CarPlay. The interiors on all variants are offered with a cognac brown and black theme. Other features include wireless charging offered on the second row of seats and a center console that is seen on the variant with captain seats. The second row of seats gets their own AC vents and sunshades there are cup holders for both the seats but all these features are available only on the six-seater version. The third row gets a three-step easy event blower which is enough as there is AC in the second row as well. The Alcazar gets Blue Link connected car technology with 60 plus features.

In terms of safety the Hyundai Alcazar gets quite a lot of features and some segment firsts. The Alcazar will be offered with Blind View Monitor (BVM) and Surround View Monitor (SVM) with 360° Camera. Blind View Monitor will assist drivers in changing lanes by providing a live view of the blind spots on either side. Further, the Surround View Monitor, will offer an increased level of safety while parking by displaying a Birds Eye View of the car using 4 cameras, making it easy and smooth to drive & maneuver the Alcazar. Interiors

If we take a look at the interiors they are cognac brown and black. The front row gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. The car gets an air purifier with an AQI display, which shows air quality inside the cabin. The eight-way electric adjustment for the drivers seat adds to the convenience.

The second row of seat changes depending upon which variant are you buying. If you buy the seven-seater you get a bench seat with a 60:40 split and if you opt for a six-seater then there are captain seats on offer.

Exteriors

The front looks almost like the Creta but the difference is that there is a different design for the grille. The headlight setup is the same as you see on the Hyundai Creta with the LED DRL running around the headlight and near the hood. There is a chrome surround around which has a thicker lower lip. The car gets diamond cut alloy wheels as standard but the higher variants get a different design. The higher variants also get side footsteps and puddle lamps. Overall, the car has been developed to perfectly emulate Hyundai’s Global Design Identity of ‘Sensuous Sportiness.
