SPYSHOT Cars currently under testing

A lot of cars are being testing in India currently. Most of these are upcoming launches. We have compiled the list of all these cars and have provided you with the launch and price expectations of these cars below. Check out the full list of spyshots of cars that are currently under testing.
Tata HBX
Tata HBX is a micro SUV that is expected this year from Tata. This will be the SUV that bridges the gap between the Tata Tiago and Tata Nexon. It is expected to rival the Maruti Ignis and Mahindra KUV100. Hyundai is planning to launch a micro SUV that will rival that HBX. We are expecting the price of this car to start somewhere around Rs 5 lakhs.
Maruti Celerio
The new-generation Maruti Celerio was slated for a launch in May, however, the second wave of the virus forced the brand to delay the plans. The car has been spotted multiple times and we are expecting it to launch any time soon. The car will now come based on the Heartect platform.
Hyundai AX1
The Hyundai X1 has not been spotted in India but there have been multiple international spy shots that have turned up. This car too is expected around Rs 5 lakhs. Hyundai will make this car extremely feature-packed for its segment and also add a lot of features that are first-in-segment. Keeping the price low and offering many features is the challenge that Hyundai will face with the AX1
Volkswagen Virtus
Volkswagen Virtus is expected to be the next-generation Vento for the country. Vento feels left behind when it comes to competition like the new Honda City. The brand is expected to load this car with features that will help it take on the competition cars.
Mahindra XUV700
Mahindra XUV700 is a flagship product that Mahindra will launch soon. This will be a seven-seater SUV with a lot of changes. We are expecting ADAS on this SUV which will be a segment-first feature. Mahindra XUV700 is expected to launch somewhere around August. It will rival the Tata Safari and the Hyundai Alcazar. In terms of pricing, it might be somewhere between both these cars.
Mahindra Scorpio
We are expecting the Mahindra Scorpio by next year. This will be a completely new generation car. It will have a lot of changes in the interior as well as the exterior of the car will become much better. Safety will also be increased which will make the Scorpio a better pick than the one that is currently there in the market. We had spotted the interiors of the Mahindra Scorpio. You can check them out in the story pinned below.
Jeep H6
Another seven seater car that in the pipeline for the Indian market is the Jeep H6. Based of the Compass, this car will be a seven seater that will be introduced soon. It will get the same engine options as the Compass. We expect it to be more expensive too.
Skoda Slavia
Skoda has been testing a new mid-size sedan for the country. This sedan is mostly expected to be called the ‘Slavia’. The car will sit between the Rapid and the Octavia, helping Skoda take on products like the new Honda City and Hyundai Elantra.
Toyota electric
Toyota is planning a WagonR based electric vehicle. You can spot the Toyota badging on the wheels in the spy shots. We expect that this Toyota electric would be called Hyryder. It is expected to be priced at around Rs 8 lakhs. The launch of this vehicle might happen only after there is enough charging infrastructure available in India. We might also see a Maruti WagonR electric follow soon.
Maruti Jimny
Maruti Jimny has been spotted testing abroad a couple of times. It is expected that the Jimny that will come to India will be a 5-door vehicle. The Jimny will come with a petrol engine and if it is offered with a diesel engine then we might have a small car in Maruti‘s lineup with a diesel offering. This SUV would be a great pick for those who want to buy the Mahindra Thar but find it too expensive.
Tesla Model 3 spyshot
Tesla Model 3 has been recently spotted testing in Maharashtra. We are expecting that Tesla will launch this car by the end of this year. This will be an expensive offering as the initial units will be offered as CBU units. Having a Tesla in India would be really great but the high price might not attract as many people as expected.
Jeep Commander
This is a Jeep Compass based 7-seater SUV that is expected to launch soon. This SUV has been spotted recently along with a red coloured Jeep Compass. There were two test mules which indicate that there might be two engine options offered on this 7-seater. The Jeep Commander has been teased internationally and we expect a global launch to happen soon.
Tata Altroz DCT spyshot
Tata Altroz DCT has been spotted a couple of times. The Altroz is not offered with an automatic gearbox even now and this has been the reason why Tata has been losing out customers on this vehicle. They should launch the automatic soon to get back in the competition with the Hyundai i20 and Maruti Baleno.
MG Astor
MG Astor is a Hyundai Creta rival that is expected to launch soon. MG is expected to offer a very good connected car tech as we see on the MG Hector. This car will be based on the MG ZS EV. Being underpinned by an EV platform, offering a hybrid system on this vehicle would be a smart idea as there is surely no diesel option that we will see. MG Astor has been spotted many times and the launch is expected in the coming months.
Volkswagen Taigun
Volkswagen Taigun has been spotted in four different colours at a port. This will be a completely localised VW vehicle. It will be offered with two turbo petrol engines and a 6-speed manual and 7 speed DSG. The Volkswagen Taigun will come in three variants and the price is expected to be kept somewhere around Rs 14 lakhs (on-road).
Toyota RAV4 spyshot
The Toyota RAV4 has been spotted testing a couple of times. We expect the brand to launch it as a hybrid vehicle against products like the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson. As of now, Toyota does not have any vehicle that is based on the TNGA platform. RAV4 could a great product to fill that void.
Mahindra eKUV
Mahindra eKUV has been spotted at the Pune plant several times. This will be the smallest EV offered by Mahindra. It is expected to have a range of about 200km. The eKUV will be an affordable electric offering. We expect the pricing to be about Rs 5 lakhs, making it an offering that will help people enter the EV segment.
Tata Tiago CNG spyshot
Tata Tiago CNG has been spotted at CNG refuelling stations a couple of times. We expect Tata to launch this car soon as the rising fuel prices have caused the demand to have a more fuel-efficient offering on all small cars. As of now, there are only petrol options available on the Tiago and there is no chance that diesel will be offered on this car.
Tata Safari spyshot
A camouflaged Tata Safari was spotted in Pune. Looking at the heavy camo, we expect that the brand is testing a special variant of the car that it might offer the customers in the coming time. With that being said, the brand could also be testing an AWD Safari, something that it has not been offered with yet.
