There aren’t many MPVs in India. Every MPV that sells currently has its own price range and segment and they do not compete against each other. MPVs like the Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo, Toyota Innova and Kia Carnival are all in different segments. There is also a growing market of SUVs with 3 rows in India too. There are a lot of MPVs that Indians want should come to the car market and give options in segments. In this article, we are going to take a look at those MPVs and know more about them.

Kia Seltos MPV

An MPV based on the Kia Seltos is expected to make it to the Indian car market. We expect that this MPV will be targeted towards the Hyundai Alcazar. The Kia Seltos MPV will share engines with the Kia Seltos and a lot of features from the Seltos will trickle to this car. In terms of pricing, this 7 seater MPV will be more expensive than the Seltos. As of now, we do not have much information on this vehicle and we suggest that you should wait for an announcement from the company. When Kia entered India, the brand did say that it will get two products every year but due to the lockdown and pandemic we think that process has been slowed down.

Hyundai Staria

Hyundai Staria has been showcased digitally. This is an MPV that looks very futuristic and has sci-fi looks. We expect that this MPV makes it to India and competes with the Kia Carnival. It has eye-catching design and Hyundai offers this vehicle in 7-seater, 9-seater and 11 seater configurations. This MPV is focused not only on rear seat comfort but is also driver-focused and has a high-tech look. The huge windows on the side and the sliding door make this vehicle look very different from the existing MPVs.

3 upcoming future 7-seaters you should keep an eye on!

Toyota Ertiga

Toyota is planning to launch a re-badged Ertiga. The launch date of this vehicle is not fixed and the company is currently busy launching the re-badged Maruti Ciaz. They are also working on the WagonR based electric car too. This means that we would see the rebadged Ertiga next year. This car will have the same engines and by then if Maruti launches a diesel engine then we might see that on the Toyota too. There would also be a different grille and a bumper to make this car look a bit different from the Maruti XL6 and Ertiga.

The Toyta Ertiga will mostly be made up of the top trims of the XL6 and this time we hope Toyota gives some extra features to customers over the simple rebadge job.

MG G10

MG G10 is a 20 to 25 lakh MPV that is expected to come into the Indian Market. It will rival the Toyota Innova and the other 7-seater in the market. This was showcased with a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a manual as well as an automatic gearbox. It gets a three-part panoramic sunroof, power sliding doors, electrically adjustable front seats and a big infotainment touchscreen. This comes in 7-seater and 9-seater layouts. It could be MGs next premium product in India.

MG 360M

MG Motors also showcased the 360M MPV in India. This is expected to rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It was showcased with a 1.5 L petrol engine. The engine makes the power of 103 bhp and a peak torque of 135 Nm. There are two gearbox options on offer – a CVT and manual. This would be naturally a Ertiga rival in or market and also the cheapest MG product one could buy in India.
