Tata Altroz is one of the hottest premium hatchbacks in the country as of today. The car gives a tough fight to strong competitors like the Hyundai i20 and the Maruti Baleno. The Altroz is appreciated for its stylish design, comfortable interiors and superior handling & ride quality. Also, the car gets a 5-star rating, making it one of the safest cars in its segment. Although the Altroz is a great product, however, it lacks some elements and features that, if added could make it a much successful product. In this article, we will discuss 5 features that we want on the Tata Altroz.
Wireless charging
Wireless charging as a feature has become really common in cars these days. Customers have turned towards cars that come loaded with such features that make their in-cabin experience very convenient. With wireless charging, the passengers are saved from long charging cables that accumulate near the charging docks. This gives the cabin a much cleaner look along with adding convenience.
Bigger touchscreen infotainment
The premium hatchback gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Competition like the Hyundai i20 gets a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Along with the smaller size, the infotainment unit on the Altroz feels a bit laggy when compared to other competitors that have a fluid user interface. Tata should enhance the size of the unit along with upgrading the software.
Automatic options
Currently, Tata does not offer any automatic gearbox options with the Altroz. This proves to be a great miss for Tata since many customers want a hassle-free driving experience and prefer an automatic transmission over a manual one. With competition offering multiple automatic gearboxes, it is time that Tata brings one for the Altroz. The brand was already in the works of bringing the Altroz i-Turbo variants with a 7-speed DCT gearbox sourced from Schaeffler. However, that did not happen ultimately. Tata could use this opportunity to bring the car with an automatic transmission which will enhance the overall driving experience. Also, bringing a diesel automatic would surely help Tata gain some more customers.
LED headlamps
This is one of the features that can instantly make a car look more attractive. The Altroz although gets LED DRLs, it does miss out on LED headlamps. Tata should bring the Altroz with LED headlamps as they will surely complement the modern styling of the car.
Idle start-stop
Idle start-stop improves the fuel efficiency of a car. A high fuel efficiency surely attracts customers as it adds value for them. Moreover, with the continuously increasing fuel prices, the customers would surely be willing to buy cars that can offer them great mileage figures. Tata should surely bring this feature to the Altroz.
