Design
The Volkswagen Tiguan will be coming with a major refresh this time around. The headlamp setup has been completely changed, the design similar to other latest offering from the brand. Specifications
Volkswagen Tiguan will come powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine, the one that we get to see on the Tiguan Allspace. The engine will produce 190 bhp and 320Nm of torque. This unit is will come coupled with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Tiguan will also get the brand’s 4MOTION AWD system. This will provide it with off-roading capabilities that will help it give a tough fight to the Endeavour and Fortuner. The car will come sat on 18-inch wheels.
Features
The car comes with modern which are in line with what the customers currently prefer. A panoramic sunroof, 30-colour ambient lighting system, fully digital instrument cluster (Digital Cockpit), connected car technology, 3-zone climate control, memory function for driver’s seat are some of the key features. Other than these, the car now comes with touch-sensitive climate controls. For the safety of the passengers, the Tiguan comes loaded with ABS, ESP, traction control, hill start assists, hill descent control, TPMS, six airbags, etc.
Pricing
Cars like Fortuner and Endeavour start at around Rs 30 Lakh price mark (ex-showroom). This value further increases when the on-road prices are calculated depending on the state-wise criterion. We expect Volkswagen to bring the Tiguan with a starting price tag of somewhere around Rs 26 Lakh to Rs 28 Lakh (ex-showroom). This will make it a good option for buyers.
Should you wait for the new Tiguan?
The Tiguan is perfectly suited for people who want a premium 5-seater but are ready to compromise with the muscular road presence that big SUVs like the Fortuner give out. The Tiguan might not stand out as much as cars like the full-size SUVs but will perform in all other aspects when compared to them since the car gets an AWD system. The Tiguan will also be suited for people with a budget crunch. Also, you get better features when compared to the other cars in comparison. However, if you are buying Fortuner & Endeavour for their massive road presence or for the 7-seater layout and are not willing to compromise with it, you should go ahead and make the purchase.
