The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan has been spied without any camouflage for the first time, in this form. The Himalayan is due for a launch in early 2016 and the company will be unveiling the bike at the Auto Expo 2016. It is likely that the launch will follow its unveiling.

The Himalayan has been in the news for quite some time now and has been spotted various times under disguise and under production.

This Himalayan was pictured while the bike was testing in Ladakh, by one of our readers. The bike seems to be a production ready version, with branding, however the colour does not seem to be a production one. There are alumimium panniers fitted on the bike, which are quite boxy in looks and gives the impression of an aftermarket fitment. The handle bar, mudguards, windshield and headlamp are clearly visible. Also the engine guard at the bottom can be seen.

RE Himalayan Spied

The Himalayan will be coming with a 410cc single-cylinder engine that churns about 27bhp of power and 32Nm of torque. This is the new engine that will be powering the upcoming generations of Royal Enfields. This comes mated to a five-speed transmission.

The bike will have front and rear disc brakes as well. ABS won’t be offered even as an optional feature.

The pricing of the Royal Enfield Himalayan will be about INR 2 lakhs (on-road) and will get Ceat tyres as the stocks ones.
