Honda has filed a patent for CRF300L in India. We think that this bike will make it to the Indian market this year and will give good competition to the adventure bikes in the segment. Here is all you need to know about the Honda CRF300L

Specs

Honda CRF300L is a dual-sport bike with road-legal accessories. It has or 800mm seat height and 284mm ground clearance. The bike comes with a 300cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 27 bhp and 27 Nm of torque. The engine of this bike gets a counterbalancer which smoothens out the engine throughout the rev range.

Cycle parts

The bike gets a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch at the rear. These are perfect for off-roading and you can see the set-up on the hero Xpulse and Royal Enfield Himalayan. At the front of the international model, there are Showa inverted 43 mm forks.

Design

In terms of design, Honda CRF300L looks like a true dual sports vehicle. It has a long beak upfront And overall the bike has a tall stance. The exhaust is mounted higher up under the seat which improves the water wading capacity of this bike. The headlight unit is a simple halogen bulb that keeps the maintenance cost low.

The instrument clusters are pretty simple and are similar to the unit that you see on the Honda Hornet 2.0. The height of this motorcycle is one area where we think it might be intimidating for Indian customers.

Style

Even though the seat on this is a motocross-style seat it is quite long and you can spend a lot of time in the saddle. The bike comes with special cargo hooks to load light luggage and there is also an option of a storage box on the left side for smaller items.

Internationally the Honda CRF300L comes in two variants but for India, only the L variant has been patented. The higher-spec rally variant might be brought in later after taking a look at the response.
