Skoda Slavia
Skoda Slavia is the Czech brand’s upcoming mid-size sedan for the Indian market. The car will be bigger than the Rapid. Moreover, the design of the car will be a refresh that will follow the brand’s latest styling cues from its other sedans. The car will come powered by petrol engines and is expected to miss out on diesel units. Also, it will come loaded with all modern amenities that will help it take on tough competition like the new-gen Honda City. The car is mostly expected to be priced under Rs 10 Lakh (ex-showroom).
MG Astor
MG Astor will be the brand’s answer to Hyundai Creta. The car will be similarly specced to the Creta, making it a tough competitor in the C-SUV segment. The car will borrow its design from the ZS EV but wil carry its unique identity to compete as a unique product. The car will come loaded with features like all-wheel disc brakes, wireless charging, driving modes, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, an electric sunroof & front ventilated seats to take on the Creta. Also, MG would price the Astor below the Creta, aiming to undercut it in this department. We expect MG to price the Astor somewhere around Rs 8 Lakh (ex-showroom), ultimately pushing the on-road price to around Rs 10 Lakh.
New-generation Vitara Brezza
Vitara Brezza has been amongst the top-selling compact SUVs consistently. The car holds a strong position for the brand and we expect Maruti to bring an update on those lines. The next-gen Vitara Brezza is mostly expected to be a huge upgrade compared to the current-gen product. We might get to see the next-generation car coming with proper hybrid technology. If Maruti manages to do so, it would become the first brand in the segment, making things worse for the competition. With a proper hybrid, the Vitara Brezza will be able to deliver more power as well as improved mileage figures, ultimately benefiting the final customer.
Maruti Jimny
Maruti is mostly expected to bring the Jimny to India sometime this year. The India-spec Jimny is mostly expected to be the 5-door version that the brand has been preparing for the foreign markets.
