The 1.5-litre petrol engine is capable of making 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. This unit comes mated to a manual and a CVT gearbox. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is capable of making 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. This unit comes mated to a manual and a torque converter unit. The 1.4-litre unit on the Creta makes the most power at 138bhp, with a 242Nm of torque. This unit can be had with an automatic DCT unit only. The Creta comes sat on 17-inch alloys as well. Looking at the engine specs, it becomes evident that Mahindra offers powerful engines. The diesel engine on the XUV produces more power & torque than Creta’s diesel unit.
Features
Coming to features, both cars will give a tough competition to each other. Creta gets features like a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, electronic parking brake with Auto-Hold, premium BOSE sound system, rear disc brakes, Blue Link connected car tech, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging and traction control modes. The XUV300, on the other hand, gets features like dual-zone climate control, 7 airbags, steering modes, rear disc brakes, a 5-star safety rating, connected car tech, heated ORVMs, front parking sensors being some of the prominent ones.

Mahindra XUV300 starts at Rs 9.31 Lakh and goes up to Rs 15.66 Lakh. The Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, starts at Rs 11.64 Lakh and goes up to Rs 21.08 Lakh.
Which one should you buy?
The Hyundai Creta, undoubtedly is a great car. It comes loaded with many features and offers customers a wide variety of engine & transmission options. These combinations make it a true segment king. With that being said, the Mahindra XUV300 is not a weak product. The car offers features that even Creta fails to offer. Dual-zone climate control, front parking sensors and heated ORVMs make it a great choice for many who want premium features like these. Also, the engines produce great torque numbers, especially the diesel ones. If you want a car that is an all-rounder in terms of features and the overall VFM, you should go for the Creta. However, if you want a car that offers some extra features, comes powered by powerful engines and that too at a much cheaper price, you should definitely go with the Mahindra XUV300.
