SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster have already been competing in the C-SUV segment. Out of these, the Hyundai Creta is the segment king. The car rules in sales charts as well as the features department. The Creta comes with many modern features that help it retain the top spot. A new product, however, might enter the C-SUV race soon. This article will discuss this Rs 10 Lakh SUV that will be cheaper than Hyundai Creta. Let’s go.

Why are SUVs a trend in India?

Exteriors

MG Astor spy shot 1

The MG Astor will borrow body panels from the ZS EV. Other than this and a few elements, it will be a refreshed car. MG Astor will have a new set of tail lamps & headlamps, mostly expected to receive LED treatment similar to other cars in competition. Also, unique alloy wheels on the Astor will further help it to be differentiated from the EV.

Interiors

The Astor will share some elements from the ZS EV. With that being said, some elements will be changed to retain uniqueness. For instance, the touchscreen infotainment setup will be a floating unit, the centre console buttons will be new and every passenger will get adjustable headrests in the Astor. However, some elements like the multi-function steering wheel will directly be borrowed from the electric counterpart.

Pricing

This will be a very crucial point that MG will most probably focus on. Beating a product like the Creta is a huge task in itself. MG might aim to take on Creta by undercutting it in terms of pricing. We believe MG would bring the Astor at a starting price point of close to Rs 10 Lakh (on-road). By offering the Astor at this price, MG will surely attract many customers that find it difficult to extend their budgets for Creta.
