2022 Hyundai Verna – What do we want?

Hyundai Verna has been one of the most successful mid-size sedans in the country. Hyundai has loaded this sedan with features that make it a great value-for-money product. Also, the plethora of engine & transmission options makes it a great choice for customers as they can choose the combination of their choice. With that being said, although the car is doing great, it is time that Hyundai brings an update for the car. It has been 4 years since the latest generation update. The sedan is currently in its 5^th generation and we wish to see Hyundai introducing the 6^th generation next year. In this article, we will discuss the 2022 Hyundai Verna and what do we expect of it.

Design

As far as the design goes, the Verna looks stunning in its current form. The car is based on the brand’s modern design language, ‘Sensuous Sportiness’. We expect Hyundai to move forward on the same lines for the next-gen car. However, we also expect Hyundai to bring new headlamps and tail lamps for the car that will surely give it a fresh look & appeal. Along with the new lighting setup, we also expect to see reworked bumpers & new alloy wheels for the car. On the inside, we expect Hyundai to work on the dashboard in order to give the car a new character on the inside. Also, the interiors are expected to come with ambient lighting which will enhance the upmarket feel of the car.

Specifications

The Verna is currently 4440mm long, 1729mm wide & 1475mm tall. The car gets a wheelbase of 2600mm. With the new update, we expect the car to come with improved dimensions. The wheelbase is expected to be increased which will increase the space inside the cabin. With increased space, the car would be able to provide much better legroom & knee room, a crucial factor for selecting a sedan. With enhanced dimensions, the cabin would feel much airier and spacious. Coming to the engine, we expect the engine options to remain the same, however, the power might be bumped up to give the driving feel a new flare. Also, given the fact that one of Verna’s main rivals, the new Honda City is expected to come with a hybrid engine, we expect Hyundai to also bring one for the Verna. Seeing the two products battle it out would be beneficial for the customers. It has already been reported by us that Hyundai is planning an N-line variant for the Hyundai i20. We are now expecting Hyundai to bring one such variant for the next-gen Verna as well.

Features

Hyundai, as a brand is famous for topping up its cars with multiple features, including many segment-firsts. The same is expected to happen this time as well. We expect Hyundai to bring new features for the car. A bigger touchscreen, remote engine start-stop via the key fob, ambient lighting and some other features are expected. Along with this, segment-first features like rear disc brakes & wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay are expected to be carried forward.

As of now, we have no official confirmation from the brand regarding its plans for the next-generation Verna. However, we expect Hyundai to launch the 2022 Verna by next year.
