Car manufacturers spend a lot of time planning a product for a market. Multiple stages need to be gone through before the product finally reaches the market. Ultimately, when the product launches, the brands expect to see them doing great sale numbers and drawing customers towards the brand. However, sometimes things don’t go as planned and the product, although being a great one fails to perform. Such products are called under-rated ones. Currently, some cars are although really great but have failed to impress the customers. In today’s article, we will discuss 5 underrated cars in 2021.
Mahindra XUV300 is a product that nobody would have expected to be on this list. The car comes with features that no one else is offering in its price bracket and even a little bit above it. The car gets dual-zone climate control as well as 7 airbags inside the cabin. It also gets engines that come with the highest torque figures in its segment. Also, this compact SUV offers the best safety & shoulder room in the segment. However, even after all these ups, the car does not do really great sales numbers in comparison to how its rivals perform. The major reason why people avoid this car is the fact that it gets a really small boot, which becomes really important while travelling with family and even for daily usage purposes.
Tata Tigor is a great entry-level sedan when it comes to returning value for your money. The car comes loaded with features, gets a 4-star safety rating from GNCAP, offers good cabin comfort and many other things which do reflect towards this being a strong product. However, the car has not been able to bring great numbers for Tata.
Honda Amaze is another product that although being great does end up on this list. The car offers great cabin space & comfort, comes loaded with features, gets reliable engines that come mated to CVT gearboxes, and returns great mileage figures. However, the Amaze does not bring really great sales figures for Honda.
Nissan Kicks was one of the first cars to offer a feature like a 360-degree camera in its price point. Also, the car came with diesel and petrol options before the BS6 era. However, when the time came to shift to BS6, Nissan let go of the diesel engine and limited its options to petrol engines only. The unavailability of a diesel engine in an SUV is one of the key reasons why this car makes its way to this list.
Ford Freestyle is one of the sportiest crossover hatchbacks that you can buy today. The car becomes a great choice as it offers good ground clearance that enhances its sportiness, comes loaded with features, gets a reliable engine and has a great build quality. The car, however, has not been able to impress a lot of people, making it a difficult case for Ford.
