With people slowly moving towards SUVs, sedans have started losing the market to these tall players. However, it has to be understood that sedans might lose the market, but they will never go out of trend. Sedans represent luxury and are the first preference of people who love to be chauffeur driven and comfortably sit at the back. Brands understand this and continuously work on new sedans for the market. Many sedans are thus coming our way this time as well. In today’s article, we will discuss the upcoming sedans in India.
New Skoda Octavia
After a long wait of anticipation, the new Skoda Octavia is finally coming in June, specifically on June 10. The sedan has gotten a complete makeover this time. Sleeker LED headlights and taillights have enhanced the look of this premium sedan in the latest update. The cabin feels will also be a major talking point of the sedan. Moreover, the car is expected to come powered by a 2.0-litre TSI engine which will be capable of making 187bhp & 320Nm of torque. This unit will mostly come paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Skoda Octavia will see Shift-by-Wire technology incorporated for the first time.
New mid-size Skoda sedan
Skoda is planning a sedan that will be positioned between the Skoda Rapid and the upcoming Skoda Octavia. The car will be bigger in dimensions than the current Rapid and will directly be competing with the 5th-gen Honda City. The car will come loaded with features that will help it take the lead against the City. Also, it will mostly come powered by the same engine options that we will get to see with the upcoming Kushaq.
Toyota Ciaz
Toyota is in the works to bring a rebadged version of the Ciaz. Although many people are calling it the ‘Belta’, we, however, will stick with Toyota Ciaz for now. The car will be a replacement for the Yaris and a premium mid-size sedan from the brand. The Toyota sedan will mostly be similar to the Maruti Ciaz, however, some minor alterations here and there are expected.
Honda City hybrid
Honda is planning to bring the City hybrid to the country this year. The car will mostly come powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine coupled with two electric motors. The hybrid engine will improve the performance and the fuel efficiency of the City. The hybrid will have some elements like exterior badging and unique design elements that will help it differentiate from the regular Honda City.
Volkswagen Vento update
Volkswagen Vento has been waiting for an update for quite some time now. The wait might however be over pretty soon. The brand might reveal the updated car this year itself. The car will now come sat on a new MQB A0 IN platform. It will be updated on the inside as well as the outside. It will get new styling elements, better features and probably, a powerful engine.
Toyota Camry update
Toyota revealed the update for its Camry a while ago. We expect Toyota to bring the updated product here as well. The Camry gets revised exterior elements like bumpers & tail lamps. The car now gets a bigger, better touchscreen infotainment system on the inside. The powertrain has been kept the same as the current one. Toyota might bring the Camry sometime soon.
Tata Tigor CNG
Tata is expected to bring a CNG Tigor in the coming time. Tigor is a great entry-level value-for-money product. Adding a factory-fitted CNG kit to the Tigor could help Tata snatch some Maruti Suzuki customers that lookout for car available with factory-fitted CNG as their first choice. Tata might also offer the car for commercial purposes that will attract even more customers towards the Tigor CNG.
