Citron has introduced a Jeep Compass competitor in the market in the form of Citroen C5 Aircross. The C5 Aircross is defiantly more expensive than cars like the Compass, Hector and Harrier. It starts from Rs 34.7 lakhs to Rs 37.2 lakhs. For them introducing a small car in India has become necessary to get brand recognition and a model that will deliver high sales. We think that this Citroen Rs 8 lakh SUV might be the one that gives it a better market share in India. In this article, we are going to take a look at this Citroen Rs 8 lakh SUV and know more about it.

New generation Ford Endeavour SPOTTED!

Based on what?

This Citroen Rs 8 lakh SUV will be based on a small SUV in the Citroen global lineup, the C3. The car was recently seen in the form of a scale model all over the internet. The car has already been testing in India and we will see that the India version of the car will be very similar to its European counterpart in design, features and elements. The car will most likely be even called the C3 in India too.

Citroen Rs 8 lakh SUV USPs

We are expecting Citroen to follow on their “comfortology” as the USP for this car too. Being a Rs 8 lakh SUV it will compete with the Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet. All these cars have loads of features and to beat them Citroen too will have to trickle down some of the features from the C5 Aircross. We might see a completely Digital instrument cluster. It might not offer customization. The infotainment system will have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.  Internationally the C3 gets a lot of driving assists such as blind-spot monitoring, lane departure, front parking sensors and cruise control with a speed limiter.

When it comes to specifications, this will be a sub-four meter SUV and will be a car that won’t get a diesel engine. Citroen does not plan on introducing any more diesel cars except its C5 Aircross in India.

Where would Citroen position it?

As a Compact SUV, the Citroen is quite late to the market. They would like to keep their SUV premium and target it to the buyers who are ready to pay the premium to get a brand that is not common and offers a small car. If you look at the buyers for Jeep or even other luxury brands in India like Mercedes and BMW, they do not have many options if they want to buy a car that has a smaller footprint.
