Frunk availability
Although the F-150 is a pickup truck and gets a large bed at the rear, however, with the missing engine, Ford has converted the hood into a storage compartment. The frunk gets a 400-litre storage capacity which can take a payload of close to 180kgs. Also, the frunk contains power outlets & USB ports in order to operate tools & devices if the F-150 is stationed at a make-shift construction site.
Power backup for the house
‘Ford Intelligent Backup Power’ is the name given to a very convenient & cool feature with the help of which customers will be able to power their home for 3 straight days in case of any power outage using the truck as a power source. It can go as long as up to 10 days if the power is capped for limited use. Also, the truck can power tools & appliances whenever needed.
Phone as a key
With this feature, customers would be able to lock, unlock and start the F-150 Lightning without having to use their phone or key fob. Basically, the presence of this technology eliminates the need for a key to be carried around. Also, up to 4 virtual keys can be assigned to a single-vehicle.
Exterior Lighting
Although the EV follows the regular muscular design of its gasoline-counterpart, however, it has its own elements to make it stand apart from the regular F-150. It gets LED lightbars that run across the front and the rear. Also, the car is made available with 360-degree Zone Lightning which illuminates the area around the car or just a specific place according to the user’s choice.
New Digital Feel
The new Ford F-150 Lightning will come with a 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system powered by Ford’s SYNC 4A. The system supports natural voice controls, real-time cloud-connected navigation, wireless connectivity to Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, integrated Amazon Alexa and SYNC apps. Also, the car gets a 12-inch customizable digital instrument cluster that shows information like real-world range with regenerative braking data, hands-free driving data and many others. Also, the system will get OTA update support that will enable the brand to upload new features and technology directly to the electric pickup’s software.
