It has been a while since Toyota has had an affordable car of its own. The manufacturer has been selling the Urban Cruiser and the Glanza which are rebadged Maruti Suzuki products for a while now. Last affordable Toyota vehicles were the Etios and the Liva. So will we get an actual cheap Toyota? Toyota has filed a design patent in India for a hatchback. We think that this car could rival the Maruti Celerio. And no, this isn’t a rebadged Celerio but a car that has been in the Indonesian market for a while now. Here is all you need to know about this Toyota Rs 6 lakh car.

Design

We expect this Toyota Rs 6 lakh car to be named as Agya. It is based on the Daihatsu Alya or the Toyota Wigo in other markets. This car will have a tall boy design but a more subdued look which will be curvy rather than boxy. This is the main reason why we are considering this as a Celerio competitor rather than WagonR as its competition. The car gets conventional design cues, bulging headlamps and more clear taillamps. The car will also compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 in our market. To know more about interior and features scroll below.

Toyota Rs 6 lakh car price and competition

The Maruti Celerio, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti WagonR will all rival this Toyota Rs 6 lakh car. Now there is no official news on the launch of this car. We are expecting this car to be priced at the Rs 6 lakh mark which is slightly expensive than the current-gen Maruti Celerio. Being a Toyota we are expecting it to be premium, solidly built and also have great service and after sales. Toyota will also be able to get a lot new buyers for this car.
