The Toyota Hilux is expected to come powered by a 2.4-litre diesel engine along with a 2.8-litre diesel engine. The 2.4-litre unit makes close to 150bhp and 400Nm of torque. The 2.8-litre unit on the other hand makes 204bhp and 500Nm of torque. Both the units are expected to be mated to a manual as well as automatic transmission. The 2.4-litre unit is expected to be offered with 2WD as well as 4WD options whereas the 2.8-litre unit will just be offered with 4WD. Also, Toyota might offer a petrol engine on this as well. The Ranger is expected to share the 2.0-litre diesel engine from the Endeavour which makes 168bhp and 420Nm of torque. This engine is mated to 10-speed automatic transmissions. For enhancing the functionality, Ford might offer a manual transmission as well. The Ranger will also be made available with 2WD as well as 4WD options.

Toyota Hilux vs Ford Ranger Interior

The Hilux is not expected to be very different from the Fortuner on the inside. The cabin experience will however differ as the 2nd-row seats won’t be as comfortable as the Fortuner. Also, the Hilux being a pickup will result in the cabin seats being limited to 5. The interior is expected to sport a similar instrument cluster setup that we get with the Fortuner. Similar is the case with the Ford Ranger as well. The car will sport a cabin similar to the Ford Endeavour.

A touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, tilt & telescopic adjustable multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, cooled glove box, reverse parking camera, 6-speaker sound system and hill start assist might be some of the prominent features.
