One Korean carmaker has had a major market in India for quite many years now. The brand stands tall in the country’s automobile sector market share. To be accurate, it holds the second position. You might have surely guessed it by now, it’s Hyundai. The carmaker has been bringing great products to the country ever since it began its journey here. Continuing the trend of great products, the brand is expected to bring another one in the coming time, however, it will not be completely new but rather an additional update for an existing car. As mentioned in the title, it will be a hatchback. This article will deal with an expected Rs 12 Lakh Korean hot hatch for India.

The car being discussed today will be the Hyundai i20 N Line. The car is inspired by the brand’s full-fledged N performance products that come loaded with meaty engines and track-focused dynamics. The car will get elements that will make it look more aggressive than the regular car on the outside. Sporty bumpers, new textured grille with ‘N’ badging, side skirts, chromed twin-exhausts, triangular rear fog lamp and new dual-tone alloys will be some of the prominent changes on the exterior. On the inside, the car will get additional elements like a leather N Line steering wheel, N Line gear knob with red stitching inserts, red inserts in the interior, sporty front seats and metal pedals.

Hyundai Nissan i20

The Hyundai i20 N Line will come powered by the brand’s 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine currently available with the regular i20. With N Line being a sportier variant, we expect Hyundai to re-tune the engine to produce little extra power to give the customer the extra oomph. Also, with the chrome twin exhausts, the N Line rumble is expected to sound much sweeter than the currently available i20. Also, the suspension setup might be tuned to enhance the driving feel of the car.

We must make it clear that there is a difference between the N and N-Line range of products. Here for example, the N-Line that is anticipated for India gets more cosmetic changes rather than structural or engineering alterations. An Hyundai i20 N on the other hand which is available abroad gets a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that makes 201bhp. It also gets bigger brakes and 10mm lower ground clearance.

Features

The hot hatch will come loaded with all features that the brand has on offer with the i20. A big touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, air purifier, connected car technology and premium sound system by BOSE should be counted as some of the prominent features.

Pricing

As already mentioned above, the car will be priced somewhere around Rs 12 Lakh (ex-showroom). The brand would try to target as many people as possible by keeping the pricing competitive.
