Honda Amaze is considered to be one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the Indian sedan segment. The diesel engine used to give a mileage of 25 km/l in the BS4 tune and now gives slightly less mileage in BS6. The car has remained unchanged since 2016 when it had got a major refresh. Now we are expecting a Honda Amaze facelift in 2022 and here is all that you can expect to see on this car.

Should you buy Maruti Ertiga over Maruti Dzire?

Powertrains

We expect that Honda might not change the engine options on the car. It will continue to use the 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine. They are a good engines and do not need change as of now. With the gearbox too the CVT is good and the manual also does not require any change. On the engine front, we would like to see an addition of a factory-fitted CNG kit for those who are looking at running their car at even lower costs. What we expect here is an addition of another powertrain in the form of a turbocharged unit. This will give Honda a bit more performance credibility. Currently the Hyundai Aura is the only car that gets a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Honda could use that engine in other cars as well.

Design

The design of the Honda Amaze facelift might take inspiration from the Honda City. It might change as subtly as the 5th generation has changed from the 4th generation. This means that the lighting setup might change on the new car and there might be a redesigned grille. The Honda Amaze facelift might bring in new alloy wheels as well as there might be redesigned rear lights.

Interiors amzseats ace edition

Interiors change can not be predicted but the color of the dash and the layout of buttons might see some change. On the interior front, you might see the addition of features mentioned in the next paragraph.

Feature expected

In terms of features, a lot is expected from this car. It should get cruise control as the other cars in this segment have slowly started getting it, notably the Maruti Dzire.  The infotainment system will get a major overhaul and you might see Amazon Alexa connectivity but with lesser features than Honda City. Now if the car comes in 2022 it should get wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

2020 Honda Amaze

Apart from these changes, we do not expect more from the Amaze. Currently the Amaze is a very good option to consider if you are looking for a fuel efficient, reliable and comfortable everyday car. Stay tuned for more on this. The current price of the Honda Amaze starts from Rs 7.33 lakh on-road Mumbai up to Rs 11.88 lakh. With the facelift, we will also see these prices going a little higher.
