How to prepare your car for a road trip
Road trips are fun. To make a fun road trip experience trouble free we need to prepare our car well for it. Finding problems in your vehicle during road trips and calling them adventure is not really the right way to enjoy a good road trip. One should not end up with issues on the side of the road and have to call it a day. With proper checks in place, you can lower the risk of breakdown and sudden repairs. Let’s check it out.
Check Fluid Levels
Make sure that the fluid levels of your cars are topped off and are circulating well. If there are overheating issues then make sure that you carry coolant and know the way to replace it. Also, carry extra oil in case your car uses something rare to find. Getting your car checked by a mechanic is also a good way to know if any niggles may appear in the future.
Wheel Alignment
Wheel alignment is necessary to be done for your car before you hit the highway. This will eliminate the loss of fuel and also provide you with good handling. Make sure that your steering is also straight and properly weighted. Having good feedback on the highway will change your driving experience.
Check your tyres
Before heading out on a road trip make sure that you check your tyres. These should have enough thread to last you the whole trip and then some more. Do check with your RSA service before leaving for your trip. Get their latest updated number and see what all services they provide. Also check with your insurance company and ask if they have a RSA service in play with your policy. We also suggest that if you are travelling at night on Indian highways then carry some sort of bat or a stick which you could use for self-defence if any unexpected mishap happens.
