5 new things on the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan
Volkswagen Tiguan was a great product when it first launched in the country. The brand later decided to halt the Tiguan and bring a much bigger, 7-seater car based on the Tiguan, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace. The brand recently unveiled the latest facelift for the Tiguan, which is expected to launch in the country this year. In this article, we will discuss 5 new things that are present in the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan.
New front design
The 2021 Tiguan gets a completely new front headlight setup that looks similar to other latest offering from the brand, for instance, the new Polo. The headlight now follows a much sleeker design, unlike the boxy design that was present on the previous one. The headlights now carry LED matrix units which give the overall car a sharper character. The bumper has also been tweaked in order to differentiate the older car’s 7-seater version from the new one.
New steering
The car is now expected to get a completely new multi-function steering wheel that although might look exactly the same on the first look, however, has received a major change when looked closely. The buttons on the new one are expected to be touch-sensitive buttons rather than the physical buttons. Also, the steering will get touch-sensitive sliders to control volume. This along with the updated interior look really good.
New engine
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan will be powered by a 2.0-litre engine, the one we get on the Tiguan Allspace. The engine will produce 190 bhp and 320Nm of torque. This unit is expected to come coupled with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. There old diesel engine will not be on offer this time.
New AC controls
The AC controls on the new one are also expected to receive minor upgrades. The AC controls are expected to be touch-sensitive, similar to the multi-function steering wheel. Earlier, the car received physical knobs to set the temperature. Now, with the touch-sensitive controls, that new big touchscreen, the overall cabin will look much more premium.
New features
Some new features are expected with the new Tiguan that were not made available until now. These are some features that are becoming standard on many cars. Wireless Android Auto & Apple Car Play and VW’s connected car tech WeConnect is expected to be offered on the new one. Moreover, ambient lighting might also be made available that will take the overall ambience of the interior to a whole new level.
