5 things to know about new Volkswagen Polo
The Volkswagen Polo has undoubtedly been one of the most loved hatchbacks not just in the country but also globally. Volkswagen recently unveiled the facelift of the 6th-gen Polo which gives this hatchback a fresh look. The car gets design changes, changes on the interior, the addition of some useful and many other elements to excite customers. New design
The new Volkswagen Polo gets a revamped design that looks ready to take on the competition. The design looks inspired by the brand’s other products that have been revamped in recent times, for instance, the Volkswagen Golf. The car now gets an LED strip that flows across the front, connecting the headlights. On the rear, the car gets tail lamps that look inspired by products like the Tiguan, the T-Roc and other products from the brand. Also, the bumpers have been tweaked, giving the updated car a fresh look.
Automated driving assist
The Volkswagen Polo now gets partly automated driving technology called the IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist which brings features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist to the Polo in some of the higher variants. The Polo, however, gets lane-keeping assist as standard.
Tweaked interiors
Not just the exteriors, but the interiors have also been slightly updated on the new Volkswagen Polo. The car gets a reworked multifunction steering wheel, touch-sensitive digital AC controls and new seating & upholstery. Also, the contrasting colours on the interior have been replaced with a single tone dashboard. Other than these, the dashboard borrows elements from the outgoing model.
Features
The car comes loaded with features similar to the previous Polo. It gets a reworked multifunction steering wheel, fully digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, dual AC, electronically-adjustable heated ORVMs and ambient lighting to count some.
Improved safety
Along with safety features like lane assist on board, the new Polo now gets an additional centre airbag inside the cabin for the enhanced protection of passengers in case of collisions. The centre airbag has been added in order to protect the driver and the front passenger who are generally the first to create contact during such events.
