For instance, compact SUVs gained traction soon after cars like Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza entered the market. OEMs soon followed and started bringing their own compact SUVs to the market. Hyundai and Tata have already been developing their own micro SUVs that could launch any time soon. Also, 7-seater SUVs have also gained traction recently with brands like Hyundai expected to launch its Alcazar in the very near future. Ford, in its current lineup, has five cars viz. EcoSport, the Endeavour, the Freestyle, the Figo and the Aspire. Looking at the previous month’s sales, we realize that the combined sales of Ford Freestyle, Ford Figo and Ford Aspire were 1237 units. On the other hand, the EcoSport and the Endeavour single-handedly did 5487 and 1024 sales respectively. This clearly reflects that Ford customers are keener on buying SUVs rather than its hatchbacks and sedan.

The country could also see the brand’s first full-electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E come here that would sit on top of the line in terms of Ford’s portfolio. Seeing the current trend, Ford might also bring a budget-friendly 7-seater SUV, similar to the Hyundai Alcazar.
