Used bikes are the stepping stone for a lot of people who want to get into off-roading. Instead of thrashing a brand bike, it is better to have a used bike that you can get for a lower price. Here are some used adventure bikes which can be your stepping stone into the world of offroading and adventure riding.
Ducati Multistrada
Ducatis are expensive and do not have good resale value. You can pick up a good Ducati Multistrada for Rs 10 lakhs or lower. This is not the go-to bike to learn offroad but if you want to upgrade to something that can go cross country and even take detours through lesser travelled roads in its stride, plus doing it all while looking good – the Multistrada is a good option.
The Ducati Multistrada is a bit costly to maintain than other bikes on this list. In terms of offroading, the low seat height gives it leverage over other bike and the L-twin engine has a lot of low-end grunt. This bike also comes with a pretty advanced electronic package that will help you out a fair bit.

Kawasaki Versys 650
A 2017 Kawasaki Versys 650 could be bought at Rs 5 lakh and you can get a good deal if you haggle a bit. The engine on this bike is a bulletproof 650cc parallel-twin engine. Also, the maintenance is moderately priced. And the bike does not require much of it. The downside here is the plastic panels which might see some damage if you drop the bike. There are very few electronics on this bike and the engine is just about perfectly balanced for city, highway and trail riding.
Triumph Tiger 800
With the introduction of the Tiger 900, the Tiger 800 has gotten some rarity aspect and it still holds its price at Rs 8 to 9 lakh depending on the variant. This is a good big bike for offroading. Their bike is built very solid and the engine is also good on trails. Just make sure that the chassis and engine are intact. With the popularity of the Tiger 800 in the adventure tourer community, it has become an easy target for dealers to dupe buyers looking for used adventure bikes
Desi Bikes
You can always buy a project bike from someone. The only thing that you should know while buying these bikes are to only make the deal if you know the bike in and out. There is a trend of adding a Karizma engine into an Impulse frame. Although it is a great offroad bike it will no longer remain road legal. This is very tempting of the Used Adventure bikes that we mentioned but do make thorough checks.

BMW F750GS
BMW F750GS is a bike which would be a great deal if it is under Rs 9 lakhs. Make sure you check the bike for accident damage. This bike is better than buying a bigger used GSA 1200 and 1250. It is way lighter and the profile of the bike and character of the engine is better for quick offroad trails.
