Although cars like Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Hyundai i20 were already present in the market, with the entry of Tata Altroz, the competition has taken an interesting turn. At the start of the year, the company launched a turbo variant of the Altroz, making it an even better product. The car in the discussion here is the Ford Fiesta that is available in foreign markets. The Ford Fiesta is a product that ticks multiple right boxes whether it is the looks or the practicality. It is a hatchback that can very well compete with the current premium hatchbacks in the country like the Tata Altroz and the Hyundai i20.
Why does the car get?
The car fits all aspects of what a general buyer needs in a premium hatchback. On the exterior, the car gets full LED headlamps with LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels and heated ORVMs. The car comes powered by a 1.0-litre EcoBoost and a 1.1-litre engine in the foreign markets. It is expected to come with the 1.2-litre engine option as well if it comes to India. It comes with a floating touchscreen infotainment system, the same unit that we get to see on the Ford EcoSport. The unit supports Ford Sync and Ford Pass. The car even gets a panoramic sunroof unlike any other premium hatchback available in the country. The car also gets driving three driving modes. Eco, Normal and Sport, and a 10-speaker music system from B&O. The car also gets wireless charging as well.
Why should it come to India?
The cars that are already in the premium hatchback segment in the country are giving a tough fight to each other. With the entry of a car that offers features like a panoramic sunroof, a premium sound system and wireless charging, the competition will become really tough and the current players would have to think of something new in order to tackle the Fiesta.
