Some car manufacturers might have let go of diesel engines, however, there are other brands that understand the opportunity others have created for them by not playing in the diesel department. There are multiple cars that will launch in the coming time and they will also be offered with diesel engines. In this article, we will discuss upcoming diesel cars in India. Let’s go.
Mahindra
Mahindra is set to launch three SUVs in the coming time, viz. the XUV700, the Bolero Neo and the Scorpio. All these cars are mostly expected to be offered with diesel engines. Talking about the products, the Mahindra XUV700 will be a premium SUV that is expected to change the segment standards when it officially launches in the country. The car is expected to be loaded with ADAS as well, a feature that we do not get to see on any car in its price bracket.
The Mahindra Scorpio will also be coming in a modern avatar that will help Mahindra attract more customers towards this rugged SUV. The Mahindra Bolero Neo on the other hand will be a product that will completely change the image of the Bolero being a boring car on the inside. The car is expected to be loaded with modern features a touchscreen infotainment system, a sunroof, fully digital instrument cluster and many others.
Hyundai
The upcoming Hyundai AX1 is expected to come with a diesel engine borrowed from its bigger brother, the Hyundai Venue. The AX1, similar to other Hyundai cars will be loaded with features and will give a tough fight to its upcoming rival, the Tata HBX. Also, the Alcazar is bound to come with the a 1.5-litre U2 diesel engine.
Maruti
Maruti in India might although have turned towards petrol engines as being their only engine option, however, that decision has caused them to lose some potential customers due to the unavailability of diesel engines. Now, Maruti is expected to bring the diesel engine back with some of its cars. The brand is expected to make the engine available with its next-gen Vitara Brezza, the Ertiga, the Ciaz and the XL6. The Maruti Jimny although is offered only with a petrol engine in the foreign markets, however, the possibility of Maruti giving the diesel engine to the Jimny cannot be ruled out.
