Tata this year revived one of its very iconic products, the Safari. The car which was launched in February caught everyone’s attention with elements that were a trademark of the original Safari, for instance, the stepped roof. The car now comes in a very modern avatar and perfectly blends history with the present. Some products are however set to enter the market that could very well pose a threat to the Safari. Hyundai Alcazar
Hyundai recently unveiled its premium 7-seater SUV, the Alcazar. The car is based on the Hyundai Creta as is evident from its design. The Alcazar is bound to take the market by storm when it officially launches in the market. Hyundai has given very fine attention to making the Alcazar a deserving product. Being a Hyundai product, the car will surely be premium on the inside as well as the outside, however, the car has also been developed keeping a focus on cabin comfort and safety.
The Alcazar’s capabilities will not just be limited to comfort and safety, but the car will also be a huge player in terms of performance. It will come powered by a 2.0-litre 3rd-gen Nu petrol engine and a 1.5-litre U2 diesel engine that will be capable of making 157bhp & 191Nm of torque and 113bhp & 250Nm of torque respectively. The 2.0-litre Nu petrol engine will be able to do 0-100kmph in under 10 seconds when paired with a manual gearbox.
Mahindra XUV700
The upcoming Mahindra XUV700, as evident from regular spy shots, will be a very strong product that could make things worse for the Safari. As evident from the spy shots till now, the XUV700 will come with a single-piece display integrating an infotainment system and digital MID. This is something that we get to see in high-end cars only. Also, the XUV700 is expected to come loaded with ADAS and All-Wheel Drive. Bringing the ADAS in its price bracket could make survival tough for the strongest of competitors. The engine on the new one is also expected to be a very powerful unit. Overall, this product could send shockwaves to the products in the periphery of its price bracket.
