Should Honda i20 competition come to India?
Honda Jazz, although being a great product has not been able to compete successfully in the premium hatchback segment due to some reasons. The product just saw 707 sales in the month of March this year. The competition has had a huge lead when compared to this product. Other competitors like the Hyundai i20 saw sales of 9045 units in the same month. The brand, however, does have a prospective product in the foreign markets that could take on the Hyundai i20 successfully. What is this product?
The product under discussion is the Honda Fit. This is the same car that comes to India with the ‘Jazz’ nameplate. The Fit is basically the Jazz, however, the foreign countries have the latest generation car present in their market. In India, we still await the generation change for Jazz. The car was although updated along with the BS6 compliance in 2020, however, bringing the latest generation car would have helped Honda in maximizing its profit and setting itself up as a serious competitor.

The Honda i20 competition gets a completely new design that looked very modern and sporty, giving the car the sporty hatchback appeal. The next-generation Honda Jazz will make for an absolutely phenomenal product if it is launched in the country. The presence of features like a fully digital instrument cluster, a 2-spoke multi-function steering wheel and an improved glass area will help the Jazz completely turn around its outdated design. Moreover, the sporty headlamp and tail lamp setup will directly push the car in the competition where cars like the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz are applauded for their modern designs.
