In terms of rating the cars scores 5 stars in GNCAP. It gets 16.3 out of 17 in the adult occupancy protection category. Child safety gets a 3-star rating.

The Mahindra Marazzo is the only car on this list of safest Indian cars that can seat 8 people and ensure such high safety.

The last car on this list of safest Indian cars is the Volkswagen polo. Its base model starts at Rs 7.27 lakhs. It is one of the expensive premium hatchbacks. This premium is not just for the performance. It does make for a safe car as it gets a 4-star GNCAP rating. The car gets dual front airbags, ABS, rain-sensing wipers, speed-sensing door locks, rear park sensors, rear windshield and wiper, rear defogger. Also, the Volkswagen Polo gets a 3-star rating in child safety.
