Hyundai Creta or MG Hector – Which is better?

The prices of the Hyundai Creta start from Rs 11.72 lakhs and Rs 21.02 lakhs.  The MG Hector on the other hand spreads over Rs 15.24 lakhs to Rs 22.53 lakhs. The Hyundai Creta in this variant comes at a price of Rs 19.34 lakhs. Whereas the MG hector costs Rs 20.62. Now when you look at this price split you can understand that it would be a difficult decision to make. The Hyundai Creta although being a smaller car in dimensions gets more features. Whereas the MG Hector is quite big on space and the engine is also bigger.

Engine

The diesel engine on the Hyundai Creta makes about 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque on the other hand the MG Hector 2.0 litre diesel engine makes 170 bhp and the torque is about 350 Nm. Here we should notice that the MG Hector is a bigger and heavier car too.

In terms of mileage, the Hyundai Creta gives about 18 km/l and the MG Hector gives about 17.4 km/l. So if you want to have a mileage focused vehicle you should go for the Hyundai Creta diesel.

Features

If you are focused on the features of a vehicle then the Hyundai Creta is hands down the choice you should make. MG Hector in this variant is not the top model and lack a few things. Also, the Hyundai Creta offers much more than the MG does in term of usable features. Now you might be a bit fooled by looking at the big touchscreen that MG offers with sim card integration but you get features like ventilated seats and others on the Hyundai Creta which can be actually used during driving.

Why you should Avoid it?

Now you should avoid the MG Hector if you don’t live in a city where there is a good MG service network. Also taking the MG Shield does work in your favour. Now it is quite difficult to point why you should avoid the Hyundai Creta as you will be buying one of the topmost variants. Avoid the Creta if you are not interested in more space at a low price. You can get a diesel manual of the MG hector at a lower price than the Hyundai Creta.
