Mahindra XUV300 facelift – What to expect?

The Mahindra XUV300 has been in our market for almost 3 years. We now expect Mahindra to update the car with a facelift to refresh the model for the market. Right now quite a few old cars in the segment have got mild or total facelift. We expect the Hyundai Venue to get a facelift also soon. Also, cars like the Nexon and EcoSport, which are very old cars in the segment will  get full generation updates. Coming back to the Mahindra XUV300 facelift. When the car was launched, it came with segment first features, best in segment safety and two engine and gearbox options.

So with cars that have upped the game in the recent years what should we expect from the Mahindra XUV300 facelift? Let’s find out.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift Design

The XUV300 is a smart yet boring design. With the current crop of SUVs like the Sonet, Kiger and the facelifted Nexon, the XUV300 has lost its design appeal. In it’s facelift avatar, the car should get new headlamps, taillamps and revised bumpers. Dimensions will remain the same. New alloy wheels can be expected. Apart from that, new livelier color options with dual tone finishes can be introduced.

Features

On the inside, we don’t think much in terms of the layout will change. The XUV300 gets seven airbags, dual zone climate control, steering modes and headrests for all passengers. In this car recently Mahindra added connected car tech too. So with the Mahindra XUV300 facelift we would like a better/bigger touchscreen and a rear AC vents. The seats are good, storage spaces are decent and the cars get a sunroof too. At the most Mahindra could add ambient lighting, wireless phone charging and give a better music speakers.

In the end, the engine/transmission options will remain the same. In terms of safety, the car is going to remain the same. The XUV300 gets a five star crash rating and comes with good build quality. Prices could go up by Rs 35,000 to Rs 45,000. There is no official word on this cars launch so stay tuned.
