2020 was an unexpected year and a lot of things happened in 2020 that took us by surprise. In the car market too there are a few things that were unexpected and here is the list of cars that surprised us in 2020

Nissan Magnite

The Nissan was a launch that was quite unexpected. There was very less speculation about Nissan launching a sub-compact SUV in the market. Further more this car got a safety rating of 4 star which makes was totally unexpected.

Prices of the Nissan Magnite start from Rs 6.74 lakhs (0n-road Mumbai) and goes up to Rs 11. 21 lakhs (on-road Mumbai). The car comes with 2 petrol engine and a CVT as an automatic gearbox.

Mahindra Thar

Thar as a product was not a surprise. It was quite expected for Thar to launch but the variants that it was launched in it was quite unique. The petrol automatic with 4×4 was quite a versatile machine is doing good sales numbers.

Also the diesel automatic and Safety rating are key points to look into when looking at the Mahindra Thar. This car definitely fall in the list of cars that surprised us with its astonishing 4 star safety rating.

The pricing of the Thar starts at Rs 14.56 on road and it goes up to Rs 17.23 lakhs.

Tata Altroz i-Turbo

The Tata Altorz as a product was great and had lived up to the expectations. The Turbo engine was expected but with and automatic too. Tata surprised us by not introducing the Automatic variant on the Altroz i-Turbo.

Apart from that the Tata Altroz i-Turbo has no gripe against it. Also the car in its new blue colour looks quite attractive and is a head turner.

MG Gloster

Next in the list of cars that surprised us in 2020 is the MG Gloster. MG Gloster is a full size SUV from MG which is fairly a new brand in India. This is the companies flagship product. This car comes with ADAS – Level 1 which is the features that sets it apart in its segment.

The MG Gloster is not the most fun to drive car in its class but it is the most spacious and comfortable one. Even the 3rd row of seats can fit 2 adults comfortably. The price of this car starts at Rs 36.21 lakhs. Offering ADAS on the top model which costs about Rs 42.90 lakhs makes this car a very good deal.

Tata Harrier

Tata Harrier was introduced in 2020 with a better tuned engine. It now makes about 170bhp and that makes it one of the highest tuned engine in that segment.

Other places where the Tata Harrier could have improved is that it could have gotten better in terms of refinement. Along with this update the Tata Harrier also got an Automatic gearbox which was needed since a long time.
