Maruti Vitara Brezza new generation expectations – NEW TECHNOLOGY

The Maruti Vitara Brezza when launched in 2016 took the compact SUV segment by storm. It has till date now been the most successful car in the segment. With competition from many newcomers in the segment like the Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite – the Brezza needs a big update. The car also faces stiff competition from established players like the Venue, Nexon and XUV300. So what should the new car offer. In this article we will talk about what we expect with the Maruti Vitara Brezza new generation.

Platform, Safety and Specifications

The Maruti Vitara Brezza has been in production for nearly 5 years where it came earlier with an option of a diesel engine too. Currently the car gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine which comes with a manual and automatic transmission. The car also scores 4 stars  in the Global NCAP testing. So Maruti will make the car safer with the new Heartect platform. The car could gain six airbags to up the safety ante. We can also expect the return of the 1.5-litre diesel engine and the hybrid system with the petrol engine will be stronger. The Hybrid tech on the car will be updated to make sure it helps in the propulsion of the car and gives it better mileage too.

While overall proportions should remain the same, we hope Maruti increase the ground clearance on the car. Lastly, with Maruti pushing for CNG in their cars, the new Maruti Vitara Brezza could get a CNG variant too.

Maruti Vitara Brezza new generation Design and features

The Maruti Vitara Brezza new generation will get a whole new look. At the same time, the cars boxy silhouette will be retained. All body panels will be new. New bigger 17-inch alloy wheels would be a welcome in the segment. Projector LED headlamps could become sleeker with new LED taillamps. We will see new bumpers too. The car might also get a sunroof.

On the inside, a whole new interior will be in place. A floating touchscreen that will be bigger. It will get more connected car features. The new Maruti Vitara Brezza will also get new upholstery, more soft touch materials and better storage too. This will be one of the first cars in the segment to get a full generation change as well.

The earlier estimate was that the car would come this year close to November near the festive season but we think it could be delayed due to the pandemic and also production challenges faced by manufactures because of the shortage of components like semi-conductor chips.
