With the increasing fuel prices in 2021 even having a bike for daily travel seems burdensome. Which are the 5 bikes in the Indian market which give mileage. Bajaj CT100
This is the most affordable bike in the Bajaj stable and being an 100cc bike it gives amazing mileage. The Bajaj CT100 now in the BS6 iteration gets electric start and fuel injection. Giving a fuel injection system churns out consistent mileage from this bike. In numbers we expect about 75 km/l mileage from this bike. Price – Rs 45,912.
Honda CB Shine
Moving to the 125cc segment we have a lot of bikes which are aspirational premium commuters. The CB shine in terms of design is dated but the Honda engine is reliable. It makes good power and is very fuel efficient. Also the engine is low maintenance. This bike makes it into the list of high mileage bikes with a staggering mileage of 55 km/l. Price – Rs 76,013
Hero Xtreme 160R
This is the latest bike in Hero’s stable. Apart from being light this bike is also fuel efficient in the 150-160cc segment. It does not have the incredible performance that is seen in some other bikes in this segment but the looks are out of the world. Also this bike undercuts many other bikes in the segment with its low price tag. It gives a mileage of about 48 km/l. Price – Rs 1,05,733.
Apache RTR 200 4v
Calling this high mileage bike would be an over statement but for a 200cc and the performance it delivers the Apache RTR 200 4V makes for a very good mileage bike. The bike gives a mileage of 37 km/l which is decent if you compare with the performance it delivers. Considering this as one of the high mileage bikes also comes down to another point where this bike offers rider modes and very premium suspension setup. Price – Rs 1,34,093.
250cc High Mileage bikes
If you go above 250cc there are a lot of bikes which give close to 35 km/l. Being in this segment you are going to prefer performance over mileage. Current the 250cc liquid cooled engine which is shared between Bajaj KTM and Husqvarna gives about 35 km/l. The Gixxer too gives about 35 km/l and if you are considering the Yamaha FZ because of its low price and higher mileage of 40km/l then you should rather go for the MT15 which gives about 50km/l because of its low displacement. The FZ 25 manages to give out the high mileage because of its under-tuned engine.
