New generation Kia Carnival revealed
Kia, the sister brand of Hyundai in India is doing pretty well in terms of overall sales and products. Kia first launched the Seltos in India, which was a worthy competition to the Creta. Then the company launched Sonet which performed well too. However, Kia launched an older model of the Carnival in India which did not do well. Now the company has recently revealed the 2022 Kia Carnival in the international market. Find out below about the new generation Kia Carnival.
Looks and Design
While the current generation Kia Carnival was a more MPV looking car, Kia is looking to incorporate SUV elements in the new 2022 Kia Carnival. The all-new Kia Carnival replaces the Sedona in the international car market. It is also the first car to come with Kia’s updated logo on the front grille.
The 2022 Kia Carnival is more boxy and angular compared to the current generation model. A more powerful engine option and better technology features are also present in the MPV. The 2022 Carnival will be offered in four variants: LX, EX, SX, and SX-Prestige.
Engine and Performance
The new generation Kia Carnival comes with a more powerful 3.5-litre V6 diesel engine which produces 290bhp/6000rpm and 355Nm/5000rpm. Only an 8-speed automatic transmission option is available with the car.
Interior and Features
The interiors are available with an all-new premium look attached to the MPV. Gloss Black surfaces, chrome garnish and integrated slim metal air vents are present on the 2022 Kia Carnival. The all-new MPV offers plenty of space for 7- or 8-passenger flexibility, comfort for long road trips, or daily excursions. There is also a functional table present inside the 2022 Kia Carnival. Additional features include heated and ventilated second-row VIP Lounge Seating with power controls, wing-out headrests, and leg extensions in up-level 7-passenger configuration.
Launch and Competition
The 2022 Kia Carnival is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2021. Better safety features like ADAS which include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Parking Distance Warning-Reverse, Lane Keeping Assist System with Lane Following Assist, and others are also present. No specific price details are also available at this point.
