The speculations of a 7-seater from Hyundai had been doing the rounds for quite some time. However, the brand has recently confirmed the 7-seater under the official name ‘Alcazar’. Another 7-seater, the Tata Safari which was recently launched, would come in direct competition with the upcoming 7-seater. In this article, we will discuss what both cars have to offer against each other.
The Tata Safari gets the 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine which is capable of producing 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. The Hyundai Alcazar is expected to get the same 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engine along with the 1.4-litre Turbo-petrol engine which we get to see on the Hyundai Creta. However, the engine is expected to be re-tuned for the upcoming Alcazar.
The Tata Safari is offered as a 6-seater as well as a 7-seater, with the 6-seater getting captain seats. The upcoming Hyundai Alcazar is also expected to be offered as a 6-seater along with the 7-seat layout. Also, captain seats might be offered with the 6-seater.
Hyundai Alcazar vs Tata Safari Features
The Alcazar is expected to come with multiple premium features. A big touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, electronic tailgate, BOSE music system, 360-degree parking camera and ambient lighting with available customizations are expected to be on offer.
The Tata Safari comes with premium features like captain seats with Boss Mode, a 9-speaker Music system by JBL, 6-fast charging ports and a central cooled glove-box.
The Safari gets 18-inch wheels which offer better control and cornering abilities along with providing better comfort and stability on the interior. The Hyundai Alcazar is also expected to get 18-inch wheels as the car will be bigger than the Creta, so to compensate for that, bigger wheels have to be offered.
Hyundai Alcazar vs Tata Safari Platform
The Alcazar will be based on the same K2 platform, which underpins the current-gen Creta. The Tata Safari on the other hand is based on the Omega Arc platform, which is derived from the Land Rover’s D8 platform. The Omega Arc is capable of housing a 4WD system, however, the K2 platform does not have any such possibility.
The Alcazar is expected to be very similar in term of dimensions, compared to the Safari.
