The Honda brand in India has delivered multiple great products since its first debut. Products like the City have been a favourite of many for so many years. However, there are still some products which the foreign markets get, but the Indian market misses. In this article, we will discuss 5 Honda cars which we wish to see in the country.
Honda City Hatchback
The City Hatchback is a product that sits somewhere between the Jazz and the City sedan. With the hatchback based on the sedan’s platform, better cabin and boot space will be on offer in comparison to its rivals. Moreover, the new City hatchback also gets an RS variant which offers a more fun-to-drive feel to the hatchback. If launched in India, the RS could become a hot hatchback that could offer the customers the true feel of driving a Honda hatchback.
Honda Civic Type-R
The Civic Type-R is a sportier and powerful variant of the premium Civic. With a 2.0-litre VTEC turbo-petrol engine powering the Type-R, the vehicle is capable of producing 315bhp and 400Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, to give the driver complete engagement with the Type-R, making every moment in this vehicle, a memorable one.
With customers and enthusiasts in India slowly shifting focus towards high-performance pickup trucks, the brand has a product in its lineup which suits this aspect perfectly; the Ridgeline. It is the brand’s tough pickup truck. With equally capable of running on smooth roads as well as tough mud-trails, the pickup clearly reflects Honda’s expertise in the off-roading department as well.
The Ridgeline sports 18-inch alloy wheels which enhance the bold truck’s overall personality. Equipped with an i-VTM4 torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system, the Ridgeline automatically distributes the complete torque available between the left and right rear wheels according to the requirements of the road with respect to each wheel.
Honda E is the brand’s first all-electric vehicle which has been solely designed and developed for city driving. The looks of this car were the first point of attraction during its debut. With simple round headlights and minimal design, the car easily sunk in peoples’ hearts and minds. With a driving range of 280km on a single charge, the city-focused product offers convenience due to its compact size, where sometimes big vehicles find it difficult to manage themselves.
Honda Freed is the brand’s affordable 7-seater mini-van which can make very much sense in the country where products like Toyota Innova, Maruti Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo rule the segment. With Freed, Honda could easily enter the minivan segment which the brand has not touched yet and also increase its portfolio further in the country.
