Maruti Jimny – Features over Vitara Brezza
Maruti Jimny, touted to be the modern Gypsy is expected to launch in the country, with Maruti assessing the Jimny for India. With Jimny, Maruti will be bringing a proper off-roader in the country after a really long time. In this article, we will see what features the Maruti Jimny is expected to get over the Maruti Vitara Brezza which is the only SUV that the manufacturer is currently selling.
4WD
The Jimny which is an off-roading focused product is expected to be offered with 4WD in the country. The foreign markets do get the Jimny with the part-time 4WD (All Grip PRO) which automatically changes to a 4WD system from a 2WD according to the conditions which the roads present.
Touchscreen with off-roading data
The Maruti Jimny is expected to get the touchscreen infotainment system with special modes to show the off-roading data. Since the Jimny is a modern product, these details will add functionality to the car along with being a funky feature. Also, the touchscreen which the Jimny in the foreign market gets supports glove operation for the comfort of serious off-roaders.
Brake LSD
The Jimny is expected to come with a brake limited-slip differential in order to help the driver if and when they get stuck in difficult terrains like mud while enjoying off-roading. With the Brake LSD, the diagonal wheels will automatically brake if they fail to provide traction and the other pair will come into action to push the car out of the mud.
Hill Descent and Hill Hold
Hill Descent Control and Hill Hold Control are two features that we might get to see on the India-version of the Jimny. Jimny gets both these features in the foreign markets. With these features on offer, the users will find it difficult to travel on the off-roads as well as hilly areas.
High beam assist and lane departure warning
The Jimny in abroad gets two advanced features, the high-beam assist and the lane departure warning. We are not sure if we will get to see these on the India-version of the Jimny, but these will be really useful if Maruti decides to bring them here. With the high-beam assist, the vehicle can automatically shift from high-beam to low-beam when the car senses a vehicle nearby, and automatically shift back to high-beam when the road is clear.
With the lane departure warning, the car will vehicle generate steering vibration and audio signals, when abrupt and sudden lane changes are experienced by the vehicle’s electronics.
