4-star rating for India-spec Magnite

The Nissan Magnite also achieved a 4-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash tests conducted in December. Responding to a question recently put up by a Twitter user ‘Remote T1’, Nissan India confirmed that the Magnite being sold in the country, which is manufactured in Chennai, is the same product that is exported to foreign markets and scored a 4-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP test.
What it means for the Indian buyers is that the Magnite comes with the same strength and solid build quality which the export models get. Along with offering value, the Magnite stands proud as a very safe car as well.
Crash Test Details
The Nissan Magnite, which is offered with multiple safety features like dual airbags, seatbelt reminder system and Electronic Stability Control as standard, achieved a score of 39.02 points for the Adult Occupant Protection. With regards to the Child Occupant Protection and Safety Assist, the Magnite managed to score 16.31 and 15.28 points respectively. With an overall score of 70.60 points, the Nissan Magnite achieved a final rating of 4-stars.

The Nissan Magnite starts at Rs 5.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), making it the cheapest available compact SUV in the country. Nissan India saw the Magnite bringing huge sales for it, thus giving it a new ray of hope after a long time. With Nissan selling 4021 units of the Magnite in the first month of this year, the waiting periods of the car have reached up to 6 months.
