Upcoming Mahindra XUV500- What we know so far?
The SUV segment in India is on the boom. Mahindra is one of the largest and most popular manufacturers of SUVs in India. The company is set to launch many new products during 2021. The company has already been spotted testing new SUVs a couple of times now. While launch was expected in Q1 2021, the global shortage of semi-conductors can postpone things further. Engine and Performance
To be built on a stiffer monocoque platform, the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will come with two new engines – 190bhp, 2.0L direct-injection turbo petrol and 185bhp, 2.2L mHawk diesel. Both the engines will be made available with two gearboxes – 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic sourced from Aisin.
New Features
The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will also receive a new flat-bottom steering wheel, chrome-lined AC vents, a large centre armrest upfront and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. Major interior change will be the radar-based ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) that might include assistance features such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, frontal collision warning and more.
Design and Looks
The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 update will be more than a facelift of the car. The exteriors of the car will come will all-new modern offerings that current-generation cars are famous for. The new Mahindra XUV500 will come with exterior features like LED headlights, DRLs, a new front grille and bumper, redesigned hood and an overall structure. The test car which was spied recently also had diamond-cut alloy wheels which will add styling to the SUV.
Sources also suggest that the upcoming XUV500 will be slightly longer than the previous-gen car. Shark fin antenna, Sunroof, Roof rails, Rear wiper and defogger, chrome accents, and redesigned rear look are some of the expected changes in the SUV.
