New Skoda Octavia coming this April
The Skoda Octavia has developed itself as a premium sedan which offers luxury along with unmatched performance. The current Octavia has been waiting for a generation change for quite some time now. The brand launched the Octavia RS245 last year, but that was just a sportier variant of the outgoing product. We, however, have the insider news that the Skoda Octavia is coming this April, after the launch of the Skoda Kushaq. In this article, we will discuss the new Skoda Octavia and what we can expect from the product.
Exterior
The exterior will see multiple changes coming in with new Octavia. The split-headlight unit, which the current Octavia sports, will be removed to be replaced by a complete headlight unit. Even the tail-lamps will be a newly designed unit with design elements similar to what we will get to see on the upcoming Skoda Rapid. The upcoming Octavia will also sport new 17-inch alloy wheels. Overall, the new Skoda Octavia will be a much sporty-looking product.
Interior
The interior of the Octavia is expected to be completely refurbished with modern elements. The Octavia is expected to sport a new two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, newly designed dashboard with much sleeker-looking elements and lines, floating touchscreen infotainment system and newly designed centre console. The glove box on the new Octavia will also be freshly designed.
Engine & Transmission
The new Octavia is expected to sport a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine which will produce 187bhp and 320Nm of torque. The petrol unit will be paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic unit. The brand had already made clear their plans of not continuing with the diesel engines in the BS6 era, so we do not expect to see the diesel engine on offer with the new Octavia.
Features
The new Skoda Octavia will get a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, full LED matrix headlamps, heads-up display, ambient lighting and an updated Virtual Cockpit. Some of the features like cruise control, rear parking camera, ABS with EBD and parking sensors will also be offered.
