Mahindra’s upcoming Rs 10 lakh SUV
Mahindra in India is majorly known for its SUVs. While the company tried to sell other segments in the country, it failed miserably. However, Mahindra realized its mistake and is now focusing only on its strong points. Mahindra is also expected to launch quite a few new SUVs in India in 2021. Past and Present
Mahindra TUV300 was first launched in 2015. It was made for city people who wanted a Bolero-like SUV with modern touches. A new TUV300 Plus model was also sold during later time. However, Mahindra did not update the car with BS6 compliance in the recent times. Sales figures of the car were also nothing special. However, things may change drastically soon. The new 2021 Mahindra TUV300 is expected to be named as the Bolero NEO to attract customers and increase sales figures.
Design and Looks
The new Mahindra Bolero Neo has already been spotted testing multiple times. From the spied car details such as a new front grille, boxy looks and new taillights can be visible. The new 2021 Mahindra TUV 300 is also expected to get new taillights and redesigned rear bumpers. Mahindra also wants to retain the signature boxy looks of the SUV with modern touches here and there. New exterior colour options will attract customers towards this compact SUV.
Interior Redesign
On the new 2021 Mahindra Bolero Neo the interior colour maybe beige and black which is the same as the BS4 Mahindra TUV300. Power window controls are expected to be placed on the centre of the SUV. The new Bolero Neo BS6 will definitely get a touchscreen infotainment system along with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Some form of connected car technology can also be expected. Sunroof will also be a bonus feature if, included in the higher trims.
Engine and Performance
The BS4 Mahindra TUV300 Plus was only offered with a 2.2L Diesel engine with manual transmission. However the 2021 BS6 Mahindra TUV300 is expected to come with a 1.5L turbo diesel and 1.2L turbo petrol engine option to keep the tax fees low. More about Mahindra’s upcoming Rs 10 lakh SUV below.
We expect both the engines to get automatic transmission options in the form of 6-speed AMT. Mahindra also showcased the iSHIFT technology earlier and may release it with this car. The XUV300 already comes with similar engine options.
The 1.5L Turbo Diesel on the XUV300 produces 115bhp and 300Nm. The 1.2L Turbo Petrol on the other hand produces 109bhp and 200Nm. The Mahindra Bolero Neo is expected to come with 7 seats so will be preferred by buyers looking for a 7-seater affordable SUV. Also, Mahindra cars historically create their own segments and cannot be compared to others.
