Design

Tata Altroz EV

The Tata Altroz EV is expected to be similar to the gasoline-powered Altroz in terms of design. The Altroz EV is expected to get projector headlights, similar to what we see on the Altroz i-Turbo, new grille as well as new alloys which look futuristic in design. The alloys might also sport blue highlights, which is the secondary colour in Tata’s EV cars. The Altroz EV is also expected to be offered in Signature Teal Blue colour which we get to see in the Nexon EV.

Platform & Battery Pack

The Altroz EV will be based on the ALFA-Arc Platform which has been specially developed for the Altroz EV from scratch. The battery pack on the Altroz EV will be a 30.2kWh liquid-cooled, IP 67 lithium-ion pack which could generate around 100bhp. The EV will be based on the company’s Ziptron EV technology on which the Nexon EV is also based. With this, the Altroz, which never got an automatic gearbox, will now see a single-speed transmission (to give the feel of an automatic transmission) come in its EV avatar.

Charging Time & Range

The charging time of the Altroz EV is expected to be an hour on DC fast charging (0-80%). The range of the lithium-ion battery pack on the Altroz is expected to be around 250km on a single charge. If Tata manages to maintain this charging time to range ratio, the Altroz will be a great product for city drives as well as highway drives to nearby places.
