Mahindra Rs 10 Lakh Electric Car
Mahindra had showcased the electric version of the KUV100 during Auto Expo 2020. With Mahindra planning many electric cars for the country, eKUV100 could be the one waiting for an imminent launch. In this article, we will discuss this Mahindra Rs 10 Lakh electric car which could be eyeing for the EV market big time.
Exterior & Interior
The eKUV100 will look similar to the gasoline-powered KUV100, with some minor changes across the vehicle. The addition of black side skirts gives it a sporty look. Chrome highlights are also a nice addition over the regular KUV100. Mahindra might bring in new alloys as well for the eKUV100.
The interior on the eKUV100 will be exactly the same as the regular KUV100. Only minor change done to the interior is the replacement of glossy plastic on the interior with matte-finish plastic.
Battery Pack
The Mahindra eKUV100 will get a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack. The electric motor powering the electric car will be able to produce 54.4bhp of power and 120Nm of torque. The battery pack on the eKUV100 will support fast charging. With fast charging available, the car will be able to charge up to 80% within an hour. With regular charging, the battery pack will take around 6 hours to charge fully.
Range
The eKUV100 can run up to 150 km on a single charge. Comparing to the time it takes to charge the vehicle with fast charging, these numbers are really going to impress the customers. The eKUV100 has been developed keeping in mind the requirements of fleet owners. The range to charging time ratio will surely benefit shared-vehicle platform owners.
Features
The eKUV100 will come with a list of features so that it could be at par with the competition. Touchscreen infotainment system, Power steering, steering wheel with multimedia-control buttons, keyless entry, rear parking sensors, ABS with Brake Assist and driver airbag would be made available with the eKUV100. Cruise control might also be on offer with the product. A semi-digital instrument cluster which shows range details will also be present.
Launch & Pricing
The launch of the eKUV100 is expected to be anytime in the coming months. Although, the pricing of the car is not officially out yet, Mahindra is expected to keep the pricing of this electric car very competitive, somewhere around Rs 10 Lakh. With multiple features on offer, competitive pricing will be a game-changer for the brand and would undercut the competition as well.
