Renault Kiger Interiors in Detail
Renault unveiled its first compact SUV for the country on 28th January of this year, the Kiger. The Kiger will be competing in the hot segment of Compact SUVs. Renault’s ally, Nissan also launched its sub-4-metre car, the Magnite in Q2 2020, which is selling in hot numbers topping many sales lists. Renault wishes the same with Kiger. Smart Cockpit
The Kiger will be marketed with its cockpit being addressed as a smart cockpit. What makes the Kiger’s cockpit smart are some features like a 20.32cm display link floating touchscreen with wireless smartphone replication (compatible with Android Auto and Apple Car Play), wireless charging on offer, voice-recognition and a 17.78cm reconfigurable fully digital instrument panel. Many smart storage spaces are provided throughout the car.
Kiger Interior Smart Storage
The centre console on the Kiger comes with a storage capacity of 7.5-litre and the glove box has a storage capacity of 10.5-litre. When calculated overall (glove box, centre console, door storages and the storage space following the gear-knob), the total cabin storage volume comes out to be 29.1-litre, which is very impressive. The rear handrest also sports cup holders for convenience.
Biggest-in-segment Boot Space
405-litres of boot capacity in the Kiger make it the first car to do so. This is even bigger than the segment-leading Kia Sonet which comes with 392-litres of boot space. It is also way bigger than what Nissan provides in the Magnite, a 336-litre boot. The Kiger also comes 60:40 split seat but we do not have the exact figures by which the boot space increases.
Premium & Spacious Interiors
The interior is also made premium with the help of a segment-first PM2.5 Air-Purifier and 3D Surround (8- speaker Music System Setup) by Arkamys. The interior has been designed to combine the sturdiness of an SUV with focus on sophistication and technology as claimed by Renault. The sporty feel is also established through piano-type switches. Renault also claims that the Kiger provides best leg-room and elbow-room in its segment, making it very spacious.
The seats on the Kiger come with patterns which give the upholstery a sporty feel. Kiger also gets 3-spoke steering wheel with steering-mounted buttons to match with the competition.
The Kiger could give serious competition in the segment and snatch sales from other brands. The Kiger if kept at a competitive price could create history for Renault. Although Kiger offers every convenient feature a vehicle could offer, a missing sunroof could disappoint many.
