Kia Seltos 7-seater – What could it be?
The Kia brand in India has been doing really well since its first launch in the country two years ago. The company has cars in the MPV and the compact-SUV segment as well, but Kia still needs a 7-seater for the country that sells. Now, this is very early speculation but we feel that following the Hyundai Creta 7 seater, Kia could be hot on the heels to bring a car too, and we feel that it would be an MPV again. Today, we are discussing our expectations of what the Kia Seltos 7-seater could be. It is a car that we have spotted in the past too.
Exterior
On the exterior front, the stance of the Seltos 7-seater is expected to be similar to that of an MPV. Moreover, 17-inch tyres are expected to be the standard wheel size for the Seltos 7-seater. Coming to the headlights and tail-lights, the 7-seater is expected to get newly designed exterior since it will be a completely new product altogether.
The signature tiger-nose grille is an element which could be retained on the 7-seater. The wheelbase of the MPV is also not expected to change, with the company increasing the overhang and the tailgate steep to accommodate the extra seating capacity along with giving it an MPV stance.
Interiors
The interiors of the Seltos 7-seater are expected to be premium and upmarket. Dual-tone interiors, with primary and secondary colours being black and white are expected to be on offer. Captain seats might also be offered in the 7-seater. BOSE premium sound system might also be on offer to make the 7-seater’s interior a premium place to be in. The interior might be contrasted with ambient lighting setup as well.
Engine, Transmission & Variants
We could see power figures bumped up a bit in the Seltos 7-seater if Kia decides to follow its own trend of bumping up power figures in its immediate bigger cars. The Sonet and the Seltos have differences in power figures ranging from 5bhp to 20bhp in different engine configurations.
So, we are expecting the Seltos 7-seater to also come with some buffed power figures reaching till 150bhp in some configurations. The variants, however, are expected to remain the same with the premium GT-line also on offer.
Kia Seltos 7-seater Features
Panoramic sunroof, 3rd row features like air-blower & charging sockets, multi-driving modes, 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable driver seats, ambient mood lighting, ambient sounds, air-purifier with perfume, all-wheel disc brakes, HUD, lane-assist camera, remote ignition and automatic engine start-stop are some of the expected features for the 7-seater.
The Kia Seltos 7-seater is expected to launch somewhere in 2022 after the launch of Hyundai Creta 7-seater. Although this is too early for us to give any pricing details for a product which has not been spotted even once, we still expect the Kia to come with competitive pricing, which even Hyundai will try to do with its Hyundai Creta 7-seater which is expected to launch very soon.
